This delicious cornbread is a perfect stand alone item but ideally pairs with the Braised Mustard Greens for a true soul food flavor explosion!

Think “Cornbread Pound Cake” lol but not really. Starting with the great foundation of Jiffy but putting some razzle dazzle on it to make it special.

Buttery Cornbread

 

Ingredients

         -1 box Jiffy cornbread mix

         -1 egg

         -1 tbsp butter, softened

         -2 tsp sugar

         -1/4 cup heavy cream

         -1/4 cup buttermilk

 

 

Directions

1.   In a bowl add jiffy, 1 egg, butter and sugar.

2.   Gradually add in heavy cream and buttermilk, alternating each and whisking together after each addition.

3.   Mixture should be the consistency of cake batter. Add additional heavy cream if needed.

4.   Pour into baking pan or muffin tins.

5.   Bake at specified temperature on Jiffy package until golden brown
